I hope this email finds you … Beading! (If an email is to find someone doing something, why not find them Beading!?)

This month has been the absolute best so far at Foxy Squirrel because of YOU & your encouragement, patience, & support. There have been the most rewarding A-HA! moments from students in class. Ava Motherwell & her son filled the store with her ginormous & most colorful collection of Italian, German, vintage, & vintage-inspired beads one afternoon giving many beaders another reason to stop in for the first time. Foxy Squirrel hosted a Birthday Party (also for the first time) for a young, spirited, & talented Beader & her friends that was SO MUCH FUN! And, the store continues to fill with Beads, Findings, & Cords & Threads because of our most generous & growing Beading Family!

We are starting a Kumihimo Series this week. Kumihimo is a Japanese art that Google says literally translates to “gathering” or “grouping” threads. (I find those words enticing) Our classes will focus on creating different braids with a Kumihimo disc, different Threads & Cords, and also Beads. What do you think about this super-simplified email format? It makes me a teensy uncomfortable because, as you may have noticed from previous emails, I enjoy (like, really enjoy) color, fonts, & creating and there just aren’t that many bells & whistles for me to play with here. What I find even better than tinkering with bells & whistles is communicating with you on the fly! Keeping it simple might help keep us communicating. I LOVE that!!

Have you ever been in line for a crazy roller coaster that you have been dying to ride, but, once you see that your turn is coming up, your heart gets stuck in your throat as you fill with fear, panic, but also strange excitement? And once you are on that same coaster, as the car is click-tick-tick-clicking up the tracks on THE big hill, have you felt “OMG, What have I done!?!” and “OMG, This is so EXCITING!” at the same time? Then, as the car crests the hill then begins to drop. Faster. And Faster!….Exhilaration!!!! This is the best! You are the best! Thank you!!
